Magnificent photos of the "Poconos Mountains", Jim Thorpe area, where Bob 'N Barb live

Here is what Bob and Barb Welch said about these photos ...

Hi all, -- Welcome from the colorful Pocono mountains.
Sending some pictures of "Glen Onoko Falls"
which is in Jim Thorpe about 6 miles from home.
Barb and I have been wanting to hike and discover the falls
as we have seen many paintings in the shops in town.
Glen Onoko Run which is approximately 1 miles long,
starting with springs at the top and flowing to the Lehigh River
that flows through "Lehigh Gorge State Park",
a 26 mile long park that ends in Jim Thorpe..
A bike trail runs the entire distance on a old RR bed.
Its an easy down hill ride where rafters and kyakers pull out their crafts.
The southern end of the park is the "Glen Onoko Access Point"
where bikers, rafters etc end their journey.

Several pictures show starting near the bottom
(at the Lehigh River where Glen Onoko run enters the river.
Also, pic's of the climb up to the top falls, which is a 1.25 mile hike up.
There is an uphill path, steep rock stairs,
and then, thru the woods to the falls.

My Pictures were taken at two different times.

The first group -- (Sequence 40,14,16,37,21,23 )
are when Barb and I started at the bottom and hiked about 1/2 way up to one of the falls.

The second group -- (Sequence 50, 28,32,42,Glen Onoko)
are from a Hike I took up the mountain to top (about 1-1/4 miles).
First 1/3rd uphill path, second 1/3rd steep steps #50,
Last 1/3rd thru woods (#32) then pictures of the upper falls.

Hope you enjoy the pic's. Bob n Barb
